Austerity

I didn't realize that something can actually egg on for a long time and fixates in someone's mind that one start thinking it is actually an intrinsic part. If you define it an obsession or fixation then I shall call it a kinda austerity.

Someone tells you that something is great and you may ignore it. Someone else tells you the same and you give a damn to it. Yet another person tells you it is actually great and now you plant a thought about it. That eggs on to you slowly and it strengthens by time and space as it grows in your mind. Then the pondering transcends to a level of action, just like a seed grows into a sprouting consuming enough of water to accomplish the process.

The action proceeds despite there are several obstacles. But, the real within and some wise-heads are there to beacon you to discern the nuggets among the fake ones. Action continues to a state of passing the responsibility to someone else who might be interested in deciding your fate. Apparently, it shows how good or bad you have carried out the job is too trivial since you aren't to decide your fate.

Subtle things aren't obvious as per the definition. You would see that you have already made a judgment of your fate but you would like to hear that from someone else. The actual test was already over while you were struggling with the action. The test became part of the action that you actually overlooked it in the process. The test was just about what to overlook and what not to. Now, this phenomenon is known as austerity. You are too fixated to the action of the event and you even forgot the goal in the process. You have denied the things that are to be denied, hence you were successful in the penance.

Happy Days

If I could borrow a cruise to trace back into time, I would follow my wake through last four years, only to kiss past, every moment one would ever like to cherish at university. Certainly, those days are synonymous to happiness and merriment. There are no reasons to flinch away if I would get a chance to drive through those merry-ways once again. Even, I would not set-back if engrossed in a simulation environment that emulates those Happy Days. Having heard about such a simulation environment named Happy Days, that has been able to project a setting of four years on the silver-screen, I rushed to the nearest theater.

The movie was crisp and fine, yet managed to cover minute details of engineering-days. I was teleported back to my first day of college, when an on-screen fresher's face delineated worries about ragging at the college. The first scene contained an amphitheater filled with trepid freshers facing a welcome-speech by admin-junta. Having drawn a similarity with my real-experience on the first day, convinced with the screenplay's authenticity. Once, the seniors took over the lime-light after a commonplace speech, the regular banter called ragging chapter has been introduced to the rookies. I am very much involved into the movie, when a "sir" named senior asked a poor fresher for an intro. Yes, I felt, this is the scene one would tag it to a indelible moment in their life, whatsoever may be strict anti-ragging rules are laid down in a college.

To build up over the "intro" chapter, the ragging saga continues in the hostel as the backdrop, juniors placed down the stage, where seniors cherish every moment being the special guests. One would not forget every moment being closely associated with a particular scene, for an example, a senior asking a junior to carry a bucket of water for him was truly close to my real experience, where I had been the former one. As the ragging chapter proceeds, freshers long for a better chapter for them, whereas seniors experiment their wildest and craziest cerebrations on specimens called juniors. A seemingly indefinite chapter comes to an happy end at the freshers party, might have preceded by minor altercations between each factions. Nonetheless, the purpose of freshie-nite boils down to integrating both the batches.

My teleported soul proxied an on-screen fresher who suffered from mid-sems. Pausing, the festive days at college, examinations infiltrate into our lives, when everyone ought to mug hard and barf the late night grasped matter. A scene depicting a copy-cat during exam was a commonplace even a high-school fella would imagine. Yet, the means might be pretty sophisticated like I have been eye-witness of digital copying by not-so easy means evading most discerning examiners. I am afraid of copyright infringement to publish those techniques. Fun apart, having witnessed a neo copying scheme, was bizarred by the brains in the background.

A new chapter called university-fest was introduced asking juniors to tap their creative and latent talents. Also, beckoned the leadership abilities of seniors, only to guide and dictate their new subordinates. No one in the campus could be spared to stay indolent in a vivacious and vibrant campus environment. All night and day campus looks rejuvenated after serious exam-illness. Every denizen striving hard to give their best, to make their own mark in the campus. Amidst all, newly paired birds found in abodes called canteens, libraries are discrete enough from envious unfortunates.

Skimming through a necessary chapter like any sporting event is one of the easiest to remember. A scene from the movie portraying the scrum between seniors and juniors at a cricket match, revived the cricketing-moments I witnessed at college. The heat radiating in a banter among players, a boo from the crowd, an applaud after every big hit or a wicket taken, could be felt even after a long time. Whether, sweet moments of victory or brackish moments of brawl amidst the game, they all find a definite place in every heart for an indefinite time.

Sailing past the wake, ceasing to the present, one would find the hardest shoal to cross. Most momentous cross-roads called placements, deciding the fate in a season. Some crack it big time, some face hard luck, some compromise, some are flippant and some are out of the box being rational with their new meanings to life. Clearly, the on-screen students enact the roles of these someones being placed in corporate world and heading to higher studies.

The infernal moment was yet to come, when everyone is deprived of these happiest days forever. The dread presence of this day is only kind enough to leave indelible moments for all the students. Albeit, one had to depart from the campus, the moments one had witnessed would roam around the campus. At the end of the movie, these lachrymose feelings deluged around only to taunt me that I am in present.
